Welcome to the home of the Folsom Blues
The Folsom Blues Baseball Club was founded in June, 2018. We are a local travel team filled with like minded families and players. Our goal is to prepare our players on and off of the field for high school, college and beyond. We measure our success based on the process, improvement, effort and respect. We play throughout the greater Sacramento area, as well as trips to southern California to explore colleges.

Baseball in Folsom
While mainly known for the dam, the prison and as a mining town during the Gold Rush, a constant thread throughout the history of Folsom is baseball. The Gold Rush brought baseball to the Sacramento area and Folsom was right in the middle of the boom. By the 1910’s semi pro teams from the area traveled to Folsom to play against the Folsom Prison Varsity Team. Games between the professional teams and the prisoners continued until 1943, when an escape occurred during a game.
Three players have played Major League Baseball from Folsom. Spider Jorgensen, John Briggs and Mike Cather. Jorgensen made his MLB debut for the Dodgers on April 15, 1947, the same day teammate Jackie Robinson broke the Major League color barrier.
“In this city of 3,000 [Folsom] two-thirds of the population eat, sleep, drink, think and talk about nothing but baseball during the season.”
-Jack Montgomery, Baseball Magazine, Circa 1930’s
